The advertisement for a 'Host Club' hangs on the building in downtown Osaka. Host clubs are upscale lounge/bar style clubs where girls go and pay to talk/drink ( and supposedly end up in something sexual if wanted ) with boys that are advertised on the wall. Each host club has their roster by the entrance to their clubs so you can see and choose before entering. The guys look just like out of an anime or a japanese rock band. Some of them walk the streets and try to recruit girls to their clubs. Surprisingly I have seen so many young and beautiful girls entering these clubs. You can't really tell in this small version of this photo but each boy has their cell number or mobile email under their pictures where you can call them directly before going to their club. Japan also has ' Hostess Clubs' where guys go to talk and drink with girls, but mostly there is no sex allowed in those places.

as i see things asian people are the most pervert breed :D

the picture looks nice though.. i love fish eyes
and the way big asian cities are built.. they look so complex.. maybe it is beacause of all the ads on every building..

Note, that it was really just the setting, not the content of the section that took me back or made me long for Japan... thought I should make that clear ;)

I agree that they look like something yanked out of a "visual-kei" band or a manga/anime movie.

If you like your men with plucked eyebrows, flashy clothes, slightly anorexic and with teased hair...then these are the places for you:D

But "host clubs" are not the norm. Host clubs are akin to "male stripper night" in N America. There are more "hostess clubs" catering to Japanese men then vice versa. Although it is changing slowly, Japan is still a very patriarchal society.

As for the sex...hostess clubs serve the same purpose...it is why Japan is often accused of having a human trafficking problem. (mostly women from south east Asian countries.)
